Welcome to the Trent Vale Trail

A family friendly route for walkers, cyclists, wheelchairs and push chairs
through the amazing wetland area around Collingham.

Connecting Newark with Collingham, Besthorpe, Girton, Spalford,
South & North Clifton and Fledborough Viaduct.

The first section from Newark to Collingham has been open for several years and forms part of National Cycle Route 64.

The section from Collingham to Besthorpe opened in Spring 2020 and is proving very popular. In October 2022 further sections were added linking Besthorpe to Girton and taking the route on beyond Girton Sailing Lake to three quarters of a mile short of Clifton Hill.

The Friends of Trent Vale Trail are the charitable organisation behind the development of the Trail and are planning to continue the Trail over Clifton Hill and then ultimately through the Cliftons onto Fledborough Viaduct to meet up with the Dukeries Trail (NCN647)

Providing a healthy space for walkers, cyclists, and less-able bodied to actively appreciate the countryside and access a wide variety of natural habitats, local sports and amenities.

The Trent Vale Trail will link to other routes connecting it to Newark, Doddington, Lincoln and, via the Fledborough Viaduct, to Clumber Park.
