User Survey - Phase 2A (May 2020)

On Saturday 23rd May volunteers from the Friends of Trent Vale Trail conducted a simple survey of people using Phase 2A of the Trail between Collingham and Besthorpe. This was done by counting the number of users of the trail at two points (one at the Northcroft Lane end of the route the other at Besthorpe Reserve) and classifying them by Age Group and by User Type (ie mode of 'transport').

These figures collected give a fairly crude indication of the numbers using the trail as it was not possible to accurately remove duplicates (for example, people counted twice if they travelled the whole length of the route or turned round and passed the same checkpoint twice). Nevertheless the numbers are encouraging compared to an estimate of 20 visitors to the Besthorpe reserve on a typical Saturday prior to the opening of the Trail.
